Orlando

I just got back a few weeks ago from Orlando on a "work" trip. I got to go to Universal Studios and Disney World with Miss Rock Star and Miss Princess!
Day 1 was a super rainy morning so we had Universal to ourselves. The only reason we went was... Harry Potter! Now, usually I make it a point not to get involved with phenomena such as Harry Potter or Twilight, because I usually have a pre-formed opinion from all the hype. But Miss Rock Star began getting into the books a few years ago and when I would tuck her in, I would read to her. Talk about late nights! I would find myself talking her into "just a few more pages" when it was already past bedtime! So, when I found out this trip included the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I was in!
Now, if you don't know anything about HP, then this is still an amazing park to visit. It is by far, the most well done theme park I have ever set foot in. The attention to detail is unreal. From moving portraits to the Weasley's crashed blue car, it was all there. All the ride attendants call you "muggles," and you can here the voice of Moaning Myrtle in the bathrooms! I bought a chocolate frog and a butterbeer for my souvenirs. They were both amazing.

Walking into Hogsmeade, this is what you see...

Hog's Head, where I got the butterbeer, was a lot like you would picture it, complete with a moving, snorting boar.

mmm...Honeydukes. It smelled delicious inside.

On to Disney! Better weather, but still chilly! We went to all of the parks and were able to fit in some amazing restaurants. Here I am with Alice!

I had never been to Animal Kingdom, because it wasn't there the last time I went, in high school! I really liked it! Especially Expedition Everest. But, the first time we went the coaster got stuck in the dark scary part. I can't lie, I thought the Yeti was coming to get me.

We saw the most amazing light and firework show in Magic Kingdom! I could go to Disney over and over again and never get tired of Cinderella's castle. It's just so magical!

This trip made me want to be a senior in high school again so that all of my friends could be there with me! Maybe some day we will all go back together...

"Have faith in your dreams and someday your rainbow will come smiling through. No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true." --Cinderella
